Launch of All Ireland Farmers Market

Enniscorthy Town Council and Wexford IFA in association with Wexford Farmers Markets have recently launched the second All Ireland Farmers Market Competition for 27th and 28th June in Enniscorthy. The purpose for this event is to promote excellence of presentation and to encourage quality and value at Farmers Markets across the country. A €5000 prize fund is on offer. The two day event will be held in Enniscorthy on 27th and 28th June.

 

This year’s competition is open to exhibitors in Farmers Markets in every market in the 32 counties. Participants in this competition must be exhibitor or composite display from a Farmers Market. Judging will be on the basis of Irish produce, quality, hygiene, traceability, presentation, customer service and value for money.

 

The launch of the 2009 All Ireland Farmers Market was performed by Mr Derek Deane IFA Vice- President on the premises of the Wexford Local Development training centre in County Wexford Organic Centre, Cushinstown, Foulksmills, Co Wexford who were the overall winners of last years Inaugural  All-Ireland Farmer’s Market competition.

  1. I attended the Council meeting last night in Kinsale and was distressed at the lack of an action plan to reinstate the market to the Short Quay asap! Is it not possible to have the HSE issues addressed immediately and get back to business?

  2. Having attended the Kinsale Town Council meeting last night I feel sorry for the councillors being ignored by the Town Manager - who's the boss here and what happened to democracy???
